Utah Basketball’s Jake Wahlin To Enter The Transfer Portal

SALT LAKE CITY—University of Utah men’s basketball forward Jake Wahlin has officially entered the transfer portal.
The second-year player announced his intentions to enter the portal. While doing so, Wahlin shared that he will continue conversing with Utah’s new head coach, Alex Jensen, and commit to play in any post-season opportunity.
This is the first player to enter the portal since Utah parted ways with Craig Smith. Following his departure, a 30-day window opened for players to enter the portal.

Wahlin is expected to garner interest from in-state programs BYU and Utah State, while Utah will also work to keep him in Salt Lake City.

Jake Wahlin’s 2024-25 season for Utah
The 6-foot-10 Wahlin made a big leap in his sophomore season at Utah. He started 22 games this year for the Runnin’ Utes, and averaged 6.2 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game.
He had season-highs of 16 points against Oklahoma State, 12 rebounds against Kansas, including a defensive performance of six steals and four blocks against Central Arkansas.
Wahlin is the first Utah player to enter the portal since Craig Smith’s dismissal. A 30-day portal window opened with his departure, and then the transfer portal opened nationwide on March 24.
