LOGAN – Utah State is heading into new territory with a familiar face and an experienced newcomer leading the way.
The Pac-12 named guards Mason Falslev and Dallin Hall to its Preseason Impact Players list, recognizing two players from each of the conference’s nine teams ahead of the 2026-27 season.
For the Aggies, the pairing offers more than preseason recognition. Falslev brings the scoring, toughness, and continuity of a returning conference player of the year. Hall adds an experienced point guard to help direct the offense. Together, they give coach Ben Jacobson a veteran foundation for Utah State’s first Pac-12 season — and reason to aim beyond simply finding its footing in a new league.

Falslev returns for his final season in Logan as one of the program’s constants. Known as “The Mayor” around campus, the Cache Valley native has endeared himself to the fan base with a hard-nosed, scrappy style that has become his calling card.
The 2025-26 Mountain West Player of the Year averaged 16 points, 5.7 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 1.9 steals per game while earning a spot on the conference’s all-defensive team.
Hall arrived late in the summer after a season at Virginia, adding another veteran to the Aggies’ backcourt. The 6-foot-4 point guard has 97 career starts across four seasons at BYU and Virginia, with three NCAA Tournament appearances.
He averaged 5.9 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game last season while shooting 41.3% from the field and 32% from three-point range. Hall finished top-20 in the country with a 3.27 assist-to-turnover ratio, dishing out 157 helpers against 48 giveaways.

That is where the partnership becomes intriguing. Falslev’s ability to score, rebound, and disrupt opponents gives the Aggies a relentless presence. Hall’s experience directing an offense gives Jacobson another steady hand as Utah State navigates a loaded conference from top to bottom.
Preseason recognition will not win the Aggies a Pac-12 title or guarantee a run in March. But with Falslev setting the tone and Hall helping steer the offense, Utah State has a backcourt built to give it a chance at both.
