Former UNI big man Will Hornseth signing with Utah State

LOGAN, Utah – New head coach Ben Jacobson is wasting no time stabilizing Utah State’s roster, signing Will Hornseth in the NCAA Transfer Portal.
Hornseth played the last two seasons for Jacobson at Northern Iowa.

Who is Will Hornseth?
Hornseth comes from a basketball family, with both parents playing collegiately in Wisconsin.
The De Pere, Wisconsin, native finished his four-year prep career with 1,450 points, 532 rebounds, and 136 blocked shots. He was named the state’s best senior post player by the Wisconsin Sports Network after averaging 16.6 points, 6.6 boards, and 3.1 assists.
His teams won two conference championships, earning the 2023 WIAA Division 1 state title with a 30-0 season as a junior.

The 6-foot-8 forward from De Pere, Wisconsin played two seasons at Northern Iowa and started all 35 games for UNI this season.

Hornseth started one game as a freshman while playing in all 33 games. The 6’8″ forward scored five points per game while playing under 15 minutes.
He was named to the Missouri Valley Conference Most Improved Team after upping his numbers across the board. Hornseth averaged 11.9 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game for the Panthers.
Hornseth reached double-figure scoring 23 times and shot 60.1 percent from the field. His 62.3 percent career mark is first in MVC history.
He scored ten points on 4-of-8 shooting in UNI’s NCAA Tournament loss to St. Johns.
