Aaron Dunn Goes In-Depth On His Commitment To Utah

SALT LAKE CITY – Kyle Whittingham’s Utah Football program picked up a big commitment from four-star offensive tackle Aaron Dunn on Thursday.
The 6-foot-8, 290-pound Spanish Fork product chose to play for the Utes over the two other finalists in USC and Oregon.

Aaron Dunn Talks Utah Commitment
“I’m fired up and really excited to get up there this January,” Dunn stated. “When I told the coaches, they were all fired up, hootin’ and hollerin’, it was awesome. I talked to coach Whitt, coach Harding, and coach Ludwig, all of them. I’m just really excited to be part of the Utah family up there.”
Dunn’s recruitment over the last few weeks involved BYU, UCLA, and Texas A&M making a late push to get into the picture. Ultimately, it came down to the three represented at his ceremony.
“Everything that went into my decision revolved around my relationship with the coaches, the players, as well as the culture they all have,” Dunn explained.
“USC and Oregon, I definitely love their coaches and have nothing but respect for them and their programs but I just felt like Utah is where that all was best for me. They have a very established coaching staff and the players, I love the players, and have a great bond with them as well.”
Under coach Whittingham recruiting in-state players has always been a top priority. There is no greater representation of that focus than along the offensive line, which has provided Utah with a few key relationships with current Utes.
“Isaiah Garcia, the Fano brothers, definitely played a role in this for me,” Dunn said. It’s always nice to know people and I have great relationships with those guys. I’m really excited to get it going with those guys.”
Being a Utah kid, that means Dunn will be able to play college football in front of friends and family, which played a significant role in the final hours of his decision-making process.
“I wouldn’t say that it was the final deciding factor but it definitely helped me out,” Dunn said. “Being able to play football in my backyard is a really special opportunity.”
Dunn’s addition is a huge boost to Utah’s 2025 recruiting class, more importantly, the future of the offensive line.
