Utah takes its unbeaten start to Boulder
The Utes improved to 5-0 with a 41-24 victory over Kansas, pairing another productive offensive performance with timely defensive stops. Utah has scored at least 30 points in every game and enters Colorado week averaging 7.19 yards per play, first in the Big 12 and ninth nationally.
Quarterback Devon Dampier ranks second in the conference in passing efficiency at 171.6 and completion percentage at 71.8%. He has thrown for 1,134 yards and 12 touchdowns, including 238 yards and three scoring passes against Kansas.

Wayshawn Parker continues to drive the offense, rushing for 171 yards and two touchdowns against the Jayhawks. His 90-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter helped secure the victory, and he became Utah’s first player since 2021 to rush for at least 170 yards in consecutive games. Parker now has 11 touchdowns — seven rushing and four receiving — tied for fourth nationally.
Defensively, Utah held Kansas to 58 rushing yards but surrendered too many explosive completions. The Utes tightened up near the goal line, allowing touchdowns on just two of five red-zone trips. Cleaning up those passing-game breakdowns is a priority as Utah looks to remain unbeaten in Boulder.
Colorado looking to reset after three straight losses
Colorado enters Saturday at 2-3 overall and 0-2 in Big 12 play, coming off a bye after a promising start gave way to three consecutive losses.
The Buffaloes opened with a 14-13 road win over Georgia Tech and a 52-21 victory against Weber State. Since then, the offense has struggled to sustain that momentum, scoring just 27 combined points in losses to Northwestern, Baylor and Texas Tech.
Colorado fell 41-7 at Northwestern, dropped its conference opener 23-13 at Baylor and lost 29-7 to Texas Tech before the break. The Buffaloes have averaged just 10.3 points against their four FBS opponents, making offensive improvement the central challenge against Utah.
The bye provided Deion Sanders’ team an opportunity to address those problems. Now Colorado returns to Folsom Field seeking its first conference victory against an unbeaten Utah team that has scored at least 30 points in every game.
