SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah football program has shuffled their two-deep and has seen some changes in their depth chart that was released on Tuesday afternoon.

The first change is the most obvious and that’s the quarterback position. That’s what led to the news that Charlie Brewer left the program as he was not listed on the two deep. Now, Cam Rising is the starting quarterback and will have Texas transfer Ja’Quinden Jackson as the backup.

Here are the rest of the changes on the depth chart.

Changes On Offense

Kyle Whittingham said on Monday that the offensive line will see a shakeup, so Jaren Kump is the starter at left tackle, with Falcon Kaumatule as the backup. Keaton Bills will start at left guard with Luke Felix-Fualalo at No. 2. Nick Ford remains the starting center with Paul Maile at backup. Sataoa Laumea is still the starting right guard along with backup Johnny Maea. Braeden Daniels moved from left guard to starting right tackle with Bamidele Olaseni as the backup. Simi Moala is not listed in the two-deep.

Another big change is at running back. Micah Bernard is the starting tailback with T.J. Pledger as the backup. Tavion Thomas and Chris Curry will likely be No. 3 and No. 4 respectively.

Changes On Defense

With Viane Moala out for the season, Devin Kaufusi will start at right defensive tackle with Tennessee Pututau as the backup. There was also a change at left tackle with Hauati Pututau now listed at No. 2 with Junior Tafuna as the starter.

Only one other change on defense includes Faybian Marks as a starter at cornerback with JaTravis Broughton out with injury. LaCarea Pleasant-Johnson is the backup. Clark Phillips III is still a starting corner with Zemaiah Vaughn as his backup.

Utah will open Pac-12 play on Saturday, September 25 against Washington State at Rice-Eccles Stadium. Kickoff is at 12:30 p.m. MDT on the Pac-12 Network.
