SALT LAKE CITY — Utah’s Saturday football game against Kansas has been moved to a 6 p.m. MT kickoff because of anticipated weather in the area.
The game at Rice-Eccles Stadium was originally scheduled for 8:15 p.m. MT. The change moves kickoff two hours and 15 minutes earlier as an incoming storm system raises concerns about conditions Saturday night.
The game will be available on the ESPN app in its entirety, with a network to be determined tomorrow.

Lightning concerns factor into earlier kickoff
The anticipated weather includes a chance of lightning, which could force significant delays Saturday night.
A prolonged interruption could push the game’s conclusion late into the evening and complicate Kansas’ return travel as the storm system brings additional weather into the region.
Moving kickoff to 6 p.m. provides a larger window to complete the game, though conditions will determine whether interruptions become necessary.
Earlier start for Utah’s first whiteout
No. 12 Utah (4-0, 1-0 Big 12) returns from its bye looking to remain unbeaten against Kansas (2-2, 0-1).
Saturday marks the first whiteout in Utah football history. Fans are being asked to wear white, and the Utes will debut new hand-painted helmets for the occasion.
Utah last played Sept. 26, earning a 31-17 victory at Iowa State. The Utes will look to improve to 5-0 in Morgan Scalley’s first season as head coach.
Fans should plan for the earlier kickoff and watch for additional updates regarding broadcast coverage and stadium operations.
