SALT LAKE CITY – The state of Utah’s top football recruit in the class of 2027 has made his decision.

Davis High star Bode Sparrow announced on Friday that he will be continuing his college career at the University of Oklahoma.

Bode Sparrow commits to the Oklahoma Sooners

Sparrow made the announcement on CBS’s College Football YouTube channel from the commons area of his high school.

The 6-foot-2, 195-pound prospect picked the Sooners over in-state programs BYU and Utah, along with Oregon.

He took official visits to all four programs before making his official commitment on Friday. Oklahoma was the first school to host Sparrow on an official visit, setting the tone for the rest of his visits.

Sparrow joins Orem High EDGE rusher Krew Jones as prospects from the state of Utah to pick Brent Venables’ Oklahoma program.

After Sparrow made his commitment, Jones wrote on X, “Plant the flag.”

A do-it-all athlete for Davis on both sides of the ball, Sparrow plans to play at safety in his college career.

Sparrow is the 76th-ranked prospect in the country by the 247Sports Composite rankings.

Davis opens the 2026 football season against Corner Canyon at home on August 14.
