LOGAN – The Ben Jacobson era in Logan is off to a fast start.
Crew Fotheringham, a 6-foot-8 wing entering his senior season at Lone Peak High School in Utah County, announced his commitment to Utah State, giving the Aggies one of the biggest recruiting wins in program history.
Utah State won a recruiting battle that included USC, UCLA, Arizona State, and Utah.

According to 247Sports, Fotheringham is the highest-rated recruit to commit to Utah State. His decision also gives the Aggies a major in-state victory after they beat out Big 12 programs BYU and the Utes for one of Utah’s top prep prospects.
He is considered the 26th-best small forward in the country and the 96th-ranked player in the 2027 recruiting class.
Fotheringham averaged 16.6 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 23 games as a junior. Across 54 career games, he has averaged 12.1 points and 4.7 rebounds per game.
247Sports director of scouting Adam Finkelstein described Fotheringham as a skilled offensive player with strong feel, shooting touch, and passing ability.
“Fotheringham is skilled with a good feel for how to play,” Finkelstein wrote. “He shoots it well, with a relatively high and compact, albeit not especially quick, release.”
Finkelstein also noted that Fotheringham is fundamentally sound with the ball and comfortable operating within the flow of an offense, though he is not necessarily a natural creator off the dribble.
