Utah County High School Basketball Players of the Week – Week 1 -MaKayla Boyer  & Jace Nielson

SALT LAKE CITY – The Mr. Mac Utah County High School Player of the Week is awarded each week to the top prep boy’s and girl’s basketball players in Utah County. Sponsored by Mr. Mac, it honors athletes for their performances on the court and exceptional play. Our winners for week one were MaKayla Boyer from Timpanogos High School and Jace Nielson from Utah Military Academy Camp Williams.

Utah County Players of the Week – MaKayla Boyer  & Jace Nielson

MaKayla Boyer and the Timpanogos Timberwolves opened the 2025-26 prep basketball season with a flourish, piling up a 3-0 record to open their campaign. In a 61-29 road win at Hillcrest she tallied 25 points, six rebounds, five steals and two assists. She then had 19 points, seven rebounds. three steals, two assists and one block in a 69-36 rout of Ogden. Finally, she scored 29 points and added three steals in a 70-61 victory over Park City.

Jace Nielson and the Utah Military Academy Camp Williams Marauders opened their season with a 3-1 mark. Nielson opened the season with 27 points, nine rebounds, five steals and three assists in a 77-23 win over USDB. He then had 19 points, six rebounds five assists, five steals and six blocks in an 87-8 rout of Dugway. He then had 17 points, eight rebounds, three steals, three blocks and two assists in a 52-51 loss to Altamont. He finally added 24 points, 16 rebounds, five steals, four assists and one block in an 80-33 blowout of Monument Valley.
