Utah County High School Basketball Players of the Week – Week 5

SALT LAKE CITY—The Mr. Mac Utah County High School Player of the Week is awarded each week to the top prep boys’ and girls’ basketball players in Utah County. Sponsored by Mr. Mac, it honors athletes for their on-court performances and exceptional play. Our winners for week five were Mountain View’s Jackson Hockersmith and Payson’s Quincy Mathews.
Utah County Players of the Week
Mathews’ 21-point, 10-rebound double-double lifted Payson to a win over Lehi.
Hockersmith lifted the Bruins to three wins in as many tries. He scored 21 points to open the week before posting a massive 33-point, 12-rebound performance in a victory over Murray. He finished the week with ten points, ten rebounds, and five blocks to beat the Logan Grizzlies.
