Week 10: 4A Utah High School Football Recap

SALT LAKE CITY – A 28-point fourth quarter allowed the Sky View Bobcats to send the Tooele Buffaloes packing in a 55-27 win.

Xander Stokes scored three times on the ground, and Cooper Karren caught a pair of third-quarter touchdowns in the blowout. Bobcat QB Jack Clark tossed three touchdowns.

Region 8

Park City Miners @ Uintah Utes (Weds.)

Park City crushed Uintah, handing the Utes a 42-0 loss. It was the second shutout of the year for the Miners’ defense.

Josh Hofer threw three touchdowns to three different receivers. Eli Warner caught two touchdown passes and added a third TD on a 22-yard third-quarter run.

Provo Bulldogs @ Mountain View Bruins (Weds.)

Mountain View was no match for a Provo team that scored 34 first-quarter points and 62 total in the first half of a 69-7 road win.

Region 9

Pine View Panthers @ No. 14 Crimson Cliffs Mustangs (Fri.)

Crimson Cliffs improved to 8-1 in the regular season with a 56-7 victory over Pine View. The Mustangs led 28-0 before Pine View’s only touchdown in the second period. Britton Phillips caught two of Tanoai Andresen’s four touchdown passes.

Hurricane Tigers @ Desert Hills Thunder (Fri.)

Hurricane commanded the action in a 34-7 domination of Region 9 rival Desert Hills. Brody Jacobs scored two rushing touchdowns for the Tigers, and Tanner Matua added a second-quarter pick-six.

Isaac Andresen scored the Thunder’s only touchdown.

Snow Canyon Warriors @ Dixie Flyers (Fri.)

Snow Canyon beat up Dixie, dropping the Flyers to 2-7 in the regular season with a 34-13 win. Warrior QB Parker Olson scored twice on the ground and added two passing touchdowns on a spectacular performance.

Region 10

Cottonwood Colts @ East Leopards (Weds.)

Cootonwood wrapped up a winless regular season when the East Leopards blew them out 59-0. Two defensive touchdowns and two special teams scores helped the Leopards finish the year 4-6. Asaeli Otukolo was the only player to score twice, finding the end zone on a two-yard run and a 37-yard punt return.

Jordan Beetdiggers @ Highland Rams (Weds.)

Two first-quarter touchdowns helped the Rams jump out to an early lead, and they wouldn’t look back in a 42-21 win over Jordan. Four different Highland players scored rushing touchdowns. Vili Ripley’s 75-yard fourth-quarter kick return was the backbreaker for the Beetdiggers.

Skyline Eagles @ Murray Spartans (Thurs.)

Skyline led 17-10 at halftime, but pulled away with 21 unanswered third-quarter points. The Eagles ended the night with a 45-17 win. Xavier Cocci scored three rushing touchdowns, and Maximus Cocci added three TDs through the air. Jonah Mailei caught two touchdowns.

Chase Mower and Carson Davis scored touchdowns for the Spartans.

Region 11

Deseret Peak Golden Eagles @ No. 19 Stansbury Stallions (Weds.)

The 19th-ranked Stallions built a 56-0 lead before their defense allowed Deseret Peak on the scoreboard. Lael Rhodes had a career day for Stansbury, catching four touchdown passes from Ethan Clegg. Carter Petersen added two rushing TDs and caught a touchdown in the blowout.

Bear River Bears @ No. 4 Ridgeline Riverhawks (Thurs.)

No. 4 Ridgeline rolled over the helpless Bears in a 69-10 pasting. Riverhawks QB Nate Dahle accounted for six touchdowns (four passing, two rushing) to lead another blowout. Ridgeline’s defense scored twice on fumble recoveries.

Glaiden Behrens scored Bear River’s only TD on a 95-yard kickoff return late in the fourth period.

Mountain Crest Mustangs @ Green Canyon Wolves (Fri.)

The Mustangs jumped out to a 28-7 lead and held a 14-point advantage at the half. Green Canyon scored 21 of the final 28 points, but didn’t have enough to finish the comeback. Carter Egbert scored three rushing touchdowns for Mountain Crest. The Mustangs held on for the 35-28 win.

Cody Edelmayer and Bryson Pabst each had two touchdowns for the Wolves.
