SALT LAKE CITY – The Orem Tigers ended the regular season by controlling the action from start to finish in a 37-0 win over Maple Mountain.

Orem scored in all three phases, led by three first-half passing touchdowns from Tayden Ka’awa. The defense added a safety, and Aoi Faumuni scored on an 80-yard kick late in the third quarter.

Week 10 Recap For 5A Utah High School Football

Region 4

Taylorsville Warriors @ Hunter Wolverines (Weds.)

The first half was a defensive slugfest, with Taylorsville clinging to a 3-0 advantage at halftime. Hunter broke through in the second half when Sione “Isi” Moungaafi crossed the goal line on a seven-yard run. Later in the half, Tevita Tongi added a 12-yard rushing score for the 14-3 win.

No. 7 West Panthers @ Cyprus Pirates (Thurs.)

West improved to 9-1 with a 69-6 beatdown of Cyprus. The Panthers have scored 60 or more points in six of their past seven games. Cyprus ends the regular season with a 4-6 record.

Kearns Cougars @ Hillcrest Huskies (Thurs.)

Hillcrest closed the regular season on a high note by shutting out the Kearns Cougars 38-0. Huskies QB K’Von Houston threw three touchdown passes and ran for a fourth in a big night. Charlie Brown added a 19-yard rushing touchdown.

Granger Lancers @ West Jordan Jaguars (Fri.)

Granger took its second straight loss to end the regular season, falling at West Jordan 42-21. The Jaguars led 21-3 at the half and never looked back.

Region 5

Roy Royals @ No. 11 Fremont Silverwolves (Weds.)

Roy struck first with a Carsten Morrison pick-six, but a 27-point second quarter from Fremont put the game out of reach early. Fremont WR Slade Parker scored four times, including catching three of Manase Tuatagaloa’s five touchdown passes.

Drayden Esplin scored two rushing TDs for the Royals.

Northridge Knights @ Clearfield Falcons (Weds.)

Clearfield scored 13 fourth-quarter points to complete a come-from-behind home win.

Clearfield’s Landon Hittle threw for one touchdown and caught a 17-yard TD from Brik Barlow to make it a one-score game early in the final quarter. Sean Brant added the finished touches on the win with a 12-yard rushing score.

No. 23 Box Elder Bees @ West Field Longhorns (Fri.)

The Brigham City-based Bees scored 28 unanswered points in the middle portion of the game to earn a 39-12 win over the Longhorns. Judd Howell scored twice for Box Elder.

Jaden Flowers accounted for all 12 West Field Points, kicking two field goals and catching a touchdown pass.

Region 6

No. 18 Woods Cross Wildcats @ Viewmont Vikings (Weds.)

Woods Cross was in control from the start, building a 43-point lead before Viewmont’s lone touchdown in the final period.

The Wildcats were led by two rushing touchdowns each from Viliami Tapa’atoutai, Jesse Simmons, and Liam Benson. Simmons broke loose for a 52-yard touchdown in the third period.

Olympus Titans @ No. 20 Bountiful Redhawks (Weds.)

A late fourth-quarter touchdown pass from Preston Ferran to Adam Bywater gave Olympus an upset road win over the Redhawks. The Titans trailed 20-14 entering the second half and got the boost they needed when Tommy Olson returned a Bountiful fumble 22 yards for a touchdown.

No. 22 Brighton Bengals @ Alta Hawks (Fri.)

In one of the few close games in the final week of the regular season, Brighton survived a late comeback bid from Alta to prevail with a 28-25 win. Jayce Evans caught two touchdowns from Griffin Matsumori, and Judah Valle’s late fourth-quarter 15-yard rushing score helped push the Bengals over the top.

Lucas Pagel scored twice for the Hawks.

Region 7

Wasatch Wasps @ No. 13 Springville Red Devils (Weds.)

The Red Devils improved to 9-1 and completed their run through Region 7 with a 38-10 victory over Wasatch. Tua Naufahu scored three rushing touchdowns for Springville, including an 89-yard second-quarter gallop.

Jay Bradley scored a 13-yard rushing touchdown for the Wasps.

Spanish Fork Dons @ Timpview Thunderbirds (Weds.)

It was the Taani Tuha show for Timpview in a home win over Spanish Fork. Tuha scored three times, including a 63-yard burst late in the third period. Timpview’s Dennis Tua’one caught a 78-yard touchdown from Cole Engemann.

Jaxan Cloward caught a 30-yard TD for the Dons’ only score.

Pleasant Grove Vikings @ Payson Lions (Weds.)

It was all Vikings in a 48-0 blowout win. Connor Ybarra scored two of the Vikings’ five rushing scores and added a 24-yard passing TD to Carter Wilkes.

Non-Region

Salem Hills Skyhawks (4A) @ Bonneville Lakers

Bonneville’s winless season mercifully came to an end with a 48-7 Salem Hills victory. Ryder Hales caught a 49-yard touchdown to start the scoring and later threw a 43-yard TD to Benjamin Staheli. It was one of two touchdowns for Staheli.
