SALT LAKE CITY – The penultimate weekend of the 2026 Utah high school football regular season provided plenty of fireworks.

The West Panthers’ mercy-rule win over the Granger Lancers in the Game Night Live Game of the Week was a blip on the full landscape.

Week 9 High School Football scores

Region 1

Syracuse 23, Farmington 16 (OT) (Thursday)

Jack Benoit’s 10-yard overtime run gave Syracuse (5-4) the Region 1 win. Farmington (3-6) appeared in control after Alton Dahl hit Benson Rogers on a 64-yard touchdown pass to take a 16-9 lead with 8:19 left in the fourth quarter. The Titans forced overtime and finished it on their first possession.

Davis 49, Layton 13 (Thursday)

Jaxton Itaaheau scored four touchdowns to lead Davis (6-3) past Layton (2-7). He opened the scoring with a 2-yard run in the first quarter, then caught 13- and 22-yard touchdown passes from Paden Toula in the second. Toula threw five touchdown passes, including three to Oklahoma-commit Bode Sparrow. Layton’s Carter Hughes briefly tied the game with a 68-yard touchdown catch in the first quarter, but the Darts’ defense shut out the Lancers in the second and fourth quarters.


Region 2

Copper Hills 20, Herriman 23 (Friday)

Herriman rebounded from last Friday’s loss to No. 1 Mountain Ridge with an important win over Copper Hills. Max Stevens scored two rushing touchdowns for the Mustangs.

Mountain Ridge 52, Bingham 7 (Friday)

The world of high school football has changed, as once-dominant Bingham was blown out by Mountain Ridge. The Sentinels got contributions across the offense, with Xander Thayer catching three touchdown passes from Jaxon Hunt and Tyson Dunn punching it in twice on the ground.

Westlake 43, Cedar Valley 7 (Friday)

Westlake dominated a matchup between two teams headed in opposite directions. Westlake (7-2) benefited from three rushing touchdowns by Ashton Taylor in the 37-point win.

Region 3

Corner Canyon 41, American Fork 17 (Thursday)

Corner Canyon (7-2) scored 27 points in the first quarter and never looked back against American Fork (6-3). Jaxon Pehrson threw four touchdown passes, all to Kelen Gold, and ran for a 23-yard score. American Fork answered in the second quarter with a Damian Wilkinson field goal and a touchdown pass from Jake Matsen to Noah Behm, but couldn’t close the gap.

Lone Peak 14, Lehi 7 (Thursday)

Krew Robinson’s 51-yard punt return late in the third quarter broke a 7-7 tie and lifted Lone Peak (4-5) past Lehi (5-4). Caleb Brady gave the Knights an early lead with a 13-yard touchdown pass to Jaxon Cloward. Lehi’s Sam Verbecky tied it with a 1-yard run in the second quarter.


Region 4

Hillcrest 49, Taylorsville 0 (Thursday)

Hillcrest scored 14 points in the first quarter and 21 in the second, building a 35-0 halftime lead. After a scoreless third quarter, the Huskies added two fourth-quarter touchdowns to finish the shutout.

Hunter 24, Cyprus 8 (Friday)

Hunter’s defense played well against a struggling Cyprus team, limiting the Pirates to a first-quarter touchdown in the win. Akuila Gallegos scored two rushing touchdowns for the Wolverines.

West Jordan 48, Kearns 0 (Friday)

West Jordan relied on an unrelenting offense and impenetrable defense to shut out the winless Kearns Cougars.

Granger 0, West 52 ⭐ Game Night Live Game of the Week (Friday)

Unbeaten West needed just three quarters to take down Granger in a Region 4 beatdown. The Panther defense controlled the game from the start, and QB Kamden Lopati scored twice in the win.

Region 5

Northridge 28, Bonneville 0 (Thursday)

Northridge (3-6) returned two interceptions for touchdowns in a shutout win at Bonneville (2-7). Destin Smith opened the scoring early in the first quarter with a 32-yard interception return, and Ryker Miller added a 72-yard pick-six in the third. Boston Wright and Zander Kap connected on a 30-yard touchdown pass to give the 21-0 lead, and Carson Murphy capped the win with a 1-yard run in the fourth quarter.

Box Elder 49, Clearfield 0 (Thursday)

Box Elder led 35-0 at halftime and rolled to the shutout. Judd Howells scored on an 8-yard run, and Mack Davis connected with Josh Pugsley on a 20-yard touchdown pass before halftime. Cooper Gunderson added a 35-yard touchdown early in the third quarter, and Jordan Hansen returned an interception 29 yards for the final score.

West Field 35, Fremont 16 (Thursday)

West Field outscored rival Fremont 21-10 in the first half and pulled away with 14 third-quarter points, setting up a Region 5 showdown. Fremont’s only second-half points came in the fourth quarter.


Region 6

Alta 37, Viewmont 20 (Thursday)

Viewmont led 7-0 after one quarter, but Alta answered with 20 points in the second and 14 more in the third to take control. The Hawks shut out the Vikings in the fourth quarter.

Olympus 27, Woods Cross 6 (Thursday)

Easton Zito ran for two touchdowns to lead Olympus (5-4) past Woods Cross (3-6). His 15-yard run with 2:27 left in the second quarter helped the Titans take a 10-0 halftime lead, and Preston Ferran added a 4-yard touchdown run early in the third. Woods Cross didn’t score until the fourth quarter.

Bountiful 38, Brighton 0 (Thursday)

Bountiful scored 28 points in the second quarter to take a 31-0 halftime lead and added a fourth-quarter touchdown to finish the shutout of Brighton

Region 7

Orem 55, Payson 28 (Thursday)

Orem (7-2) scored 34 points in the first quarter to defeat Payson (3-6). JaVoni Halalilo returned an interception 73 yards for a touchdown with 1:30 left in the first quarter, and Tanner Lewis threw three touchdown passes during the opening burst. Payson scored 14 points in each of the first and fourth quarters.

Pleasant Grove 28, Timpview 21 (Thursday)

Pleasant Grove tied the game at 14 in the second quarter on Cannon Jacobson’s 31-yard touchdown pass to Landan Forstpointner. Corbin Robbins sealed the win with a 47-yard touchdown run with 3:09 left. Steel Richards scored a late touchdown for Timpview.

Springville 28, Spanish Fork 14 (Thursday)

After a scoreless first quarter, Springville scored 14 points in the second and added touchdowns in each of the final two quarters to beat its rival.


Region 8

Mountain View 31, Uintah 19 (Thursday)

Brigham Moses scored twice to lead Mountain View (5-4) past Uintah (3-6). One of his scores was a 22-yard touchdown pass with 15 seconds left in the second quarter, giving the Bruins a 7-6 halftime lead. Carter Vance added a 7-yard touchdown run with 7:00 left in the fourth quarter.

Timpanogos 24, Park City 23 (OT) (Thursday)

Zack McCann’s 1-yard touchdown run and the overtime extra point gave Timpanogos (5-4) a one-point win over Park City (4-5). Park City’s Will Hladon kicked a 25-yard field goal with 8:49 left to take the lead, but Timpanogos’ Luke Bergin answered with a 40-yard field goal with 28 seconds left to tie the game at 17 and force overtime.

Provo 55, Deer Creek 0 (Thursday)

Provo scored 28 points in the first quarter and 21 more in the second, leading 49-0 at halftime. The Bulldogs added a third-quarter touchdown to complete the shutout.

Salem Hills 42, Wasatch 7 (Thursday)

Cash Hollingshead threw four touchdown passes for Salem Hills, including a 10-yard score to Peyton Higginson and a 21-yard touchdown to Gordon Wilson in the first quarter. Reggie Smith added a 50-yard touchdown run early in the second quarter, and Ian Willis scored on a fumble recovery in the third. Wasatch’s only touchdown came in the second quarter.

Ridgeline 44, Green Canyon 12 (Wednesday)

The Noah Fiefia show continued as Ridgeline rolled to a blowout win. Fiefia ran for three touchdowns and added a 10-yard touchdown catch.

Bear River 48, Deseret Peak 20 (Thursday)

Bear River (6-3, 4-2) scored 48 straight points after falling behind 7-0. Glaiden Behrens caught a 63-yard touchdown pass from Preston Wilkinson early in the second quarter and returned an interception for a score shortly after, as the Bears built a 41-7 halftime lead. Rigdon Vonk added two 3-yard touchdown runs.

Mountain Crest 42, Tooele 9 (Thursday)

Layton Christian 10, Maple Mountain 7 (Thursday)

Lasse Frohlic’s 23-yard field goal with 5:53 left lifted Layton Christian (8-1) past Maple Mountain (2-7). Chris Munroe gave the Eagles the lead with a 14-yard touchdown run in the second quarter. Maple Mountain tied it in the third on Hutch Clark’s 68-yard touchdown pass to Hayden Anderson
