SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Real Monarchs has announced the new addition of Bode Davis to their 2020 roster. Davis was signed from the RSL Academy after graduating last spring.

During the return to play last week against the San Diego Loyal, following a 17-week hiatus due to the novel coronavirus, Davis saw 62 minutes of playing time before being substituted midway through the second half.

“Bode is another player taking the step from the academy to the professional ranks,” Real Salt Lake Technical Director Dan Egner said in a statement. “He has shown throughout his academy career and this preseason that he is ready for the next step. The staff has been impressed with his progress and we look forward to him being a major contributor with the Monarchs in 2020.”

Since joining the RSL Academy in 2016 Davis saw action in 62 games, 60 of them he started, he scored 18 goals during his RSL Academy career. Davis plays as a striker or on the wing. During the match for the Monarchs last week against San Diego, Davis started alongside Kyle Coffee at the point of the attack.

“To sign my first professional deal has always been a childhood dream of mine,” Davis said in a statement. “Being from Utah, it’s amazing I get to stay at home and play professionally. I loved my time with the RSL Academy and now have the opportunity with the Monarchs for a shot with RSL that I’m incredibly excited for.”

Real Monarchs returns to action on Saturday, July 18 when it welcomes Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC in the club’s Group C opener. A limited number of tickets are available and can be purchased by visiting RealMonarchs.com or by calling 844.REAL.TIX.
