Bickner, Larson, Dean Advance To Olympic Ski Jumping Final

SALT LAKE CITY – Kevin Bickner, Casey Larson and Decker Dean of the United States have all qualified for the Men’s Large Hill Ski Jumping Final following impressive qualifying jumps.

Dean led all Americans with a 94.9 points scored while Larson finished two places higher than Bickner in 43rd through qualifying following a jump distance of 116.5. Bickner ended with a qualifying distance of 110.5 and 89.2 points scored.

Of the 56 jumpers during qualification, Dean led the Americans as he progressed in the 38th position.

Marius Lindvik from Norway led the field with a very impressive jump of 136.4 points scored going a remarkable 135 meters.

The 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics

Just a year after Japan’s summer Olympics, the Games are back for a winter show in Beijing, China. The unusually short gap between Games is due to the ongoing Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Strict precautions and enforced virus prevention protocol are in place to help keep athletes, coaches and personnel safe. 

Beijing is the capital of China, with a population of more than 20 million people and the first city to host both a Summer and Winter Olympic games. It is one of the largest cities in the world and 15 hours ahead of Mountain Time. There are 13 different venues in and around Beijing that will be used for the Winter Olympics.
