Carly Margulies, Brita Sigourney Miss Podium In Women’s Freestyle Skiing Halfpipe Final

SALT LAKE CITY – Carly Margulies and Brita Sigourney did not take home a medal in the Women’s Freestyle Skiing Halfpipe Final at the Winter Olympic Games.
Sigourney finished in 10th place, while Margulies ended her competition in 11th place. Eileen Gu from China won the gold medal. Cassie Sharpe from Canada took home silver, while Rachel Karker of Canada won the bronze medal.
Each competitor had three runs, keeping their best score of the three. On the first run, Sigourney recorded a 70.75. Margulies finished with a 24.75. After the first run, Sigourney was in ninth place, with Margulies in 11th.
Margulies didn’t have a great second run as her ski’s got stuck on the first jump, which led to a score of 1.75. Sigourney didn’t improve on her first run after posting a score of 60.00 on her second run.
In their third run, Sigourney had her worst score of 12.25. For Margulies, it was her best run with a score of 61.00.
Sigourney is from California and currently resides in Park City, Utah. This is her third Winter Olympic Games, having competed in the 2014 and 2018 Games. She has previously won a bronze medal.
Margulies is from Mammoth Lakes, California. She attended Westminster College. It’s her first Winter Olympic Games.

The 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics
Just a year after Japan’s summer Olympics, the Games are back for a winter show in Beijing, China. The unusually short gap between Games is due to the ongoing Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. It is one of the largest cities in the world and 15 hours ahead of Mountain Time. There are 13 different venues in and around Beijing that will be used for the Winter Olympics.
