SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Dwyane Wade didn’t mince words when showing support for suspended Olympic runner Sha’Carri Richardson.

Richardson received the suspension after testing positive for THC, a chemical found in marijuana from a drug test conducted during the June 19 Olympic trials.

Wade, a part-owner of the Utah Jazz took to Twitter to share his displeasure for the ruling.

“But majority of y’all rule makers smoke and probably are investors in THC companies,” Wade tweeted. “Let’s stop playing these games.”

Richardson appeared on the Today show to discuss the failed test, explaining she used marijuana to help cope with her mother’s recent death.

“I was definitely triggered and blinded by emotions, blinded by badness, and hurting, and hiding hurt,” she said. “I know I can’t hide myself, so in some type of way, I was trying to hide my pain.”

Wade followed up his initial tweet by repeating what has become a rallying cry for Richardson after the 30-day ban.

“I am human ✊🏾,” Wade tweeted.

Due to the timing of Richardson’s test and 30-day ban, she may still have an opportunity to compete at the Olympics, though it won’t be in the highly anticipated 100-meter dash again Jamaica’s Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce.

Richardson could still compete in the women’s relay which will be held on August 5-6, though USA Track and Field hasn’t announced their plans for the race.

Wade wasn’t the only member of the Jazz to show their support for Richardson. Both Jordan Clarkson and Donovan Mitchell shared images of Wade’s tweet on their Instagram pages.
