SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The NFL Combine is over and the state of Utah was well represented with many local athletes posting great numbers at the Combine.

Now that the Combine is in the rear view mirror, most media outlets have released their post-combine mock drafts.

Not all of them do six or seven round mock drafts and the outlets that put out their mock drafts are one or two rounds, which none of the locals have appeared in the early rounds.

It remains to be seen where Weber State has offensive lineman Iosua Opeta will go. He had a great combine, but it wasn’t noticed by some draft experts.

Utah’s Cody Barton and BYU’s Sione Takitaki was not noticed either but should be climbing up draft boards as the draft approaches on April 25 to 27.

Three draft sites have released mocks for seven rounds, here is where they have the locals projected to continue their football careers:

Utah Utes

Former Utah linebacker Chase Hansen did not participate in any drills at the combine, he showed up for measurements. He was projected by Drafttek to be selected in the third round (No. 78 overall) to the Miami Dolphins. Draftsite has Hansen getting picked up in the seventh round (231st overall) to the Atlanta Falcons.

Former offensive lineman Jackson Barton is projected to be drafted on the third day of the draft, which is between the fourth and seventh round. Draftsite pegs Barton to get picked up in the sixth round (No. 184 overall) to the Detroit Lions. Drafttek predicted Barton to go in the seventh round (220th overall) to the Houston Texans.

BYU Cougars

Former defensive lineman Corbin Kaufusi did not get invited to the Combine, but he had multiple surgeries in the offseason. Draftsite has Kaufusi going in the fourth round (115th overall) to the Carolina Panthers. Drafttek is predicting the BYU standout to go in the fourth round (No. 122 overall) to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Utah State Aggies

Tight end standout Dax Raymond had a great combine as well, he was highlighted by draft experts as a great pass catching tight end. Walter Football has Raymond going in the sixth round (183rd overall) to the Dallas Cowboys. Draftsite predicted the Aggie to go in the seventh round (No. 233 overall) to the New York Giants.

Running back Darwin Thompson is skipping his senior season to go to the NFL and Drafttek has projected him to go in the sixth round (202nd overall) to the New Orleans Saints.
