SALT LAKE CITY — The Utes head to Lawrence for a high-stakes Week 14 matchup with the Kansas Jayhawks, and on Wednesday Utah released its initial availability report.

Utah enters the week at No. 13 in the College Football Playoff rankings, still clinging to a path toward the Big 12 title game and the playoff.

Last Saturday’s wild comeback win over Kansas State kept hopes alive — but the Utes only concern this weekend is their Friday showdown with the Jayhawks for a shot at their 10th win of the season.

What’s at Stake

Utah enters Week 14 in an interesting spot. They have to take care of business against a struggling opponent. The Utes needed to win out and pray for chaos elsewhere, so far, chaos has evaded college football.

Their furious 12-point fourth-quarter comeback over Kansas State kept them in the conversation, showcasing the toughness that’s defined Kyle Whittingham’s tenure.

Offensively, Devon Dampier continues to prove he’s built for big moments — topping 300 total yards against KSU and dragging Utah back from the brink behind a relentless run game led by Wayshawn Parker and a surging offensive line.

Injuries were costly last week — losing Ryan Davis and John Henry Daley is a gut punch — and the Utes must tighten up after giving up 47 to K-State. Morgan Scalley’s group faces another dual-threat challenge with Kansas’ tempo, misdirection, and weapons at every level.

Every possession matters Friday. Utah needs to take care of their business and see how things shake out the rest of the weekend.
