MONTREAL – Real Salt Lake’s Sam Johnson thought he had evened the scored on an amazing diving header, but he has ruled offsides by the line judge.
With RSL trailing 1-0, Johnson dove for the ball as it entered the box and got his head on it, sending the ball into the goal with his body parallel to the turf.
Unfortunately for RSL, it was ruled that Johnson had been offsides on the play and thus the goal was not allowed.
RSL was trailing in the match after giving up a tough goal in the final minute of the first half by Montreal’s Omar Browne.

Entering the game on a three-game winning streak, RSL was looking for their first ever road victory against the Impact.
Johnson was back in the Starting XI after being held out of the starting group for the last two games. Two weeks ago, he was suspended by head coach Mike Petke after arriving late to a team meeting. The next week, he came off the bench against Atlanta United. RSL won both of those games.
The match between RSL and Montreal can be streamed live on sports.ksl.com or on the KSL TV app.
