Pac-12 Power Rankings: Little Movement In Conference After Week 11 Action

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – With the two best teams in the Pac-12, Oregon and Utah on a bye, the conference didn’t have much movement or any big changes in scenarios heading down the home stretch.

Oregon needs to win one more game and they will clinch the Pac-12 North division or will win the division if Oregon State loses one more game. Utah needs to win out to avoid UCLA or USC taking the top spot in the South Division.

Here’s the KSL Sports Pac-12 Power Rankings after the 11th week of the season:

NORTH

1. No. 7 Oregon Ducks (8-1, 6-0 Pac-12)

Result: Bye week

Recap: Oregon had a bye this past week. They will face Arizona on Saturday.

2. Washington Huskies (6-4, 3-4 Pac-12)

Result: Beat Oregon State 19-7 on the road on Friday.

Recap: Washington’s defense held Oregon State to 119 yards of total offense. Their offense couldn’t get anything going in the passing game as Jacob Eason threw for just 175 yards and two interceptions. Running back Salvon Ahmed was the only standout on offense for the Huskies with 174 rushing yards on 25 carries and two touchdowns. Washington snapped a two-game losing streak.

3. Oregon State Beavers (4-5, 3-3 Pac-12)

Result: Lost to Washington 19-7 at home on Friday.

Recap: Oregon State dug themselves a hole, trailing 13-0 before getting their only touchdown which was a 36-yard pick six by Jaydon Grant. The Beavers’ defense could stop Washington’s running attack. Quarterback Jake Luton struggled, throwing for just 88 yards and one interception. Oregon State had just 31 rushing yards on 22 carries.

4. Stanford Cardinal (4-5, 3-4 Pac-12)

Result: Lost to Colorado 16-13 on the road.

Recap: It was a defensive battle between Stanford and Colorado. The Buffaloes scored their only touchdown early in the game before Stanford rattled off two straight field goals. Colorado stretched their lead to four at the half. The Cardinal took their first lead when quarterback K.J. Costello found former Brighton high school wide receiver Simi Fehoko for a 79-yard touchdown. Colorado scored a field goal to tie the game with 7:34 left and then nailed the game-winning field goal as time expired. Costello finished with 245 passing yards, one touchdown and one interception. Fehoko recorded two catches for 96 yards and one score.

5. California Golden Bears (5-4, 2-4 Pac-12)

Result: Bye week

Recap: Cal scored 45 seconds into the game, but Washington State blocked the PAT and returned it into the end zone for a defensive PAT conversion. The Cougars nailed a field goal at the end of the opening quarter to trail by one point. Both teams scored in the second and Cal had a 13-11 halftime lead. The Bears had a touchdown, while Washington State scored a field goal in the third quarter before Cal outscored the Cougars 13-6 in the fourth quarter. The Golden Bears snapped a four game losing streak. Quarterback Devon Modster threw for 230 yards and 3 touchdowns, while running the ball seven times for 43 yards and another score. Running back Christopher Brown Jr. had two touchdowns, one on the ground and one receiving. He had 19 carries for 95 yards on the ground and had two catches for 13 yards.

6. Washington State Cougars (4-5, 1-5 Pac-12)

Result: Lost to California 33-20 on the road.

Recap: Cal scored 45 seconds into the game, but Washington State blocked the PAT and returned it into the end zone for a defensive PAT conversion. The Cougars nailed a field goal at the end of the opening quarter to trail by one point. Both teams scored in the second and Cal had a 13-11 halftime lead. The Bears had a touchdown, while Washington State scored a field goal in the third quarter before Cal outscored the Cougars 13-6 in the fourth quarter. Washington State has lost their last two games and 5 of their last 6. Quarterback Anthony Gordon threw for 407 yards, 2 touchdowns and one interception. Wide receiver Brandon Arconado hauled in 12 receptions for 130 yards and one touchdown. Easop Winston Jr. added 9 catches for 113 yards.

Recap: The Utes had a bye this past week. They will host UCLA on Saturday.

2. USC Trojans (6-4, 5-2 Pac-12)

Result: Beat Arizona State 31-26 on the road.

Recap: USC jumped out to a 28-7 lead after the first quarter. Quarterback Kedon Slovis nearly threw for 300 yards and four touchdowns. He didn’t throw another TD pass for the rest of the game. The Trojans scored just three points in the third quarter. Arizona State scored 19 points in the final three quarters, but the comeback came up short. Slovis threw for 432 yards, 4 touchdowns and one interception. Running back Kenan Christon had 20 carries for 62 yards as well as 4 catches for 82 yards and two touchdowns. Amon-Ra St. Brown hauled in 8 receptions for 173 yards and one touchdown, while Michael Pittman Jr. had 13 catches for 146 yards.

3. UCLA Bruins (4-5, 4-2 Pac-12)

4. Arizona State Sun Devils (5-4, 2-4 Pac-12)

Result: Lost to USC 31-26 at home.

Recap: Arizona State dug themselves a hole in the first quarter, allowing USC to score 28 points and getting one touchdown. They limited the Trojans to just three points in the final three quarters and scored 19 points. The Sun Devils had the ball on the final drive with a chance to win the game but a deflected pass was intercepted by USC. Quarterback Joey Yellen started in place of the injured Jayden Daniels. He threw for 292 yards, 4 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. Frank Darby had 3 receptions for 86 yards and two touchdowns. ASU has lost their last three games.

6. Colorado Buffaloes (4-6, 2-5 Pac-12)

Result: Beat Stanford 16-13 at home.

Recap: Colorado scored their only touchdown early in the first quarter. It was a field goal fest from that point. Stanford had one touchdown as well. The Buffaloes made a 37-yard field goal as time expired to win the game and snap a five game losing streak. Quarterback Steven Montez threw for 186 yards and one interception, while running the ball 8 times for 40 yards and one touchdown. Alex Fontenot racked up 95 yards on 18 carries. Wide receiver Laviska Shenault Jr. caught eight passes for 91 yards.
