Unrivaled Feels USU’s Jordan Love Is State’s Top QB

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The college football season is quickly approaching and the state of Utah is lucky to boast three strong quarterbacks on its three biggest programs.

Utah will start Tyler Huntley at QB, BYU will put Zach Wilson under center and Utah State’s Jordan Love will return after a great season last year.

All three quarterbacks are expected to make big impacts for their respective teams this seasons. As for who will have the biggest impact, the feeling with the national media and with KSL’s Unrivaled is that Love may be the best QB of the bunch.

CBS Sports recently ranked Love as the fifth-best QB in the Tier II category, placing him as the 10^th best signal-caller in the nation. Huntley and Wilson were not ranked on the list.

Unrivaled hosts Alex Kirry and Matt Baiamonte agreed with the rankings, calling Love the Beehive State’s best quarterback.

“I’m a little surprised that he’s that high, but I have no problem with it,” said Baiamonte, who also hosts KSL Sports’ Cougar Sports Saturday, of Love’s position on the rankings. “If you look at his touchdown to interception ratio, it’s as good as it’s going to get in college football.”

Last season, Love threw for 32 touchdowns and surrendered just six interceptions while throwing for 3,567 yards to lead the Aggies to an 11-2 record.

Kirry was surprised that Huntley was omitted from the list by CBS, and that others like Arizona’s Khalil Tate and lesser-known QBs like UNLV’s Armani Rodgers were included in the rankings.

For the record, Rodgers threw for 10 touchdowns and four interceptions for 601 yards. Prior to his injury, Huntley threw for 12 touchdowns and six interceptions for 1,788 yards.

Kirry sees it as an insult to Utah.
