SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Just one game after Kyle Korver gave high praise to Donovan Mitchell, the second-year Jazzman responded by putting his team on his back in the fourth quarter.

Led by Mitchell, the Utah Jazz won Game 4 over the Houston Rockets, 107-91. to keep their playoff hopes alive.

From the start of the final period, Mitchell was unstoppable in a must-win game for Utah.

He scored 13 points in the opening three minutes of the fourth quarter to help Utah retake the lead after Houston’s hot shooting in the third quarter put the Rockets ahead. When the buzzer finally sounded, Mitchell had scored 19 points in the final period.

Mitchell finished with a game-high 31 points on 11-for-26 shooting with three 3-pointers made. It was the second consecutive game over with over 30 points scored by Mitchell, who dropped 34 in Utah’s 104-101 loss in Game.

Key Moment

Mitchell’s unbelievable fourth period was sparked largely by taking advantage of mistakes by the Rockets, most notably one key sequence down the stretch that put the game on ice.

With the Rockets trailing the Jazz 95-86 with litte more than four minutes remaining in the game, Harden lost the ball following an attempted crossover as he was taking the ball down the floor. The ball was scooped up by Donovan Mitchell, who passed it to Royce O’Neale, who in turn, gave it back to Mitchell for a fast-break alley-oop on the other end.

Following a missed 3-pointer by Houston’s Daniel House, Mitchell scored again to get Utah a 13-point lead with 3:41 remaining and the game was essentially won.

Next Up

Having won the potentially season-ending Game 4, the Jazz will look to extend their season even more in Game 5 in Houston. The contest will tip off on Wednesday at 6 p.m. and be broadcast on TNT.
