Neil Pau’u Fights Way Into End Zone To Give BYU A 35-Point Lead

PROVO, Utah – BYU WR Neil Pau’u had to fight his way into the end zone but was able to give the Cougars a big lead over Idaho State on Senior Day.
Late in the second quarter, Jaren Hall threw his fourth touchdown of the game, finding Neil Pau’u for a 13-yard strike. That gave the Cougars a 35-7 lead with 15 seconds remaining until halftime.
It was Pau’u’s 13th career TD and the sixth of the 2021 season.

During the play, Pau’u suffered what appeared to be an ankle injury. He immediately left for the medical tent and was attended to by trainers.
That TD throw by Hall was his fourth of the game, 16th of the season and 17th of his career.
Idaho State took a knee after the Pau’u touchdown to give BYU a 35-7 advantage at halftime. Through the first half, Hall completed 20 of his 25 pass attempts for 298 yards to go with four TD’s. He also ran the ball four times for 13 yards and a score.

Tyler Allgeier had six carries for 35 yards and one touchdown. Puka Nacua led the receiving charge with six catches for 120 yards and a TD. Pau’u also had six receptions to go with 48 yards.
