Full List Of Utes, Cougars Invited To 2023 NFL Combine

SALT LAKE CITY – A total of 319 prospects from 100 schools have been invited to participate in this year’s NFL Combine.

Seven of those prospects come from Utah (4) and BYU (3). Reigning national champion Georgia had the most invites at 12.

The Combine will take place in Indianapolis from February 28 to March 6.

Utah

Braeden Daniels, OL

Daniels played in 49 games, starting in 43, since 2019. He was named to the Pac-12 All-Academic Honor Roll twice, Pac-12 All-Conference first-team in 2022 (second-team selection in 2021), two-time Pac-12 Offensive Lineman of the Week, and was a key part of the Utes offensive line that only allowed 1.07 sacks per game.

Dalton Kincaid, TE

Kincaid played in 31 games for Utah, starting in 23, since 2020. He played for the University of San Diego from 2018-2019. In his first full season as a Ute, he recorded 36 receptions for 510 yards (14.2 ypc) and eight touchdowns.  In 2022, Kincaid led the team in receptions (70), receiving yards (890), and receiving touchdowns (8). Kincaid was selected to the All-Pac-12 first team in 2022. He is also 10th all-time for Utah in touchdown receptions.

Clark Phillips III, DB

Phillips started in every game he played, 31, for Utah. He was named the 2022 AP Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year, 2022 Pac-12 All-Conference First Team (Coaches and AP), Pac-12 All-Conference and AP All-Pac-12 second team in 2021. Phillips had nine career interceptions (including a school-record-tying four returned for touchdowns), ranks fourth in Utah history with 232 career interception return yards, and was the only active player in the Pac-12 with four career pick-sixes (one of just two active Power Five players).

Tavion Thomas, RB

Thomas played 37 career games in FBS football, 23 with Utah, with nine starts. He was named to Pac-12 All-Conference first-team in 2021, ranked third in the FBS and led the Pac-12 in rushing touchdowns (21) in 2021, and led the team with 142 carries for 687 yards and seven rushing touchdowns in 2022. Thomas also recorded nine career 100-yard rushing games (2 at Cincinnati, 7 at Utah).

BYU

Blake Freeland, OL

Freeland was a four-year starter for BYU from 2019-2022. In 2022, he was one of three players to play and start in all 13 games. Freeland was named a Third Team AP All-American, Independent Offensive lineman of the Year by College Football Network, and College Football Network All-Independent First Team. Freeland held a key role in BYU’s sixth-best offensive line unit in the country according to Pro Football Focus.

Jaren Hall, QB

Hall played in 31 games in four years at BYU. In that time, Hall recorded 65.2% completion percentage (tied with Steve Young for No. 4 all-time at BYU), 6,174 passing yards  52 touchdowns to 11 interceptions, a passer efficiency rating of 158.2 (No. 4 all-time at BYU), 181 carries for 796 yards and nine touchdowns, and #1 all-time at BYU in career interception avoidance percentage (0.153). Hall was also named Independent Offensive Player and Quarterback of the Year by College Football Network.

Puka Nacua, WR

Nacua played in 21 games in two years at BYU. He played at Washington in 2019-2020, totaling 11 games, 16 receptions, 319 yards, and three touchdowns in two seasons. In 2021, Nacua led the Cougars in receiving yards with 43 catches for 805 yards and six touchdowns with an average of 18.7 yards per reception. Nacua was named College Football Network Independent Wide Receiver of the Year in 2022.
