SALT LAKE CITY – It sounds like a country western duo, Clarkson & Dunn. The Utah Jazz duo combined for a two-on-one fast break for the Utah Jazz after a Dallas second-quarter turnover.
The Jazz (14-19) are hosting Luka Dončić and the Dallas Mavericks (19-14) at Delta Center in a New Year’s Day slugfest.

Dončić’s errant pass bounced off the hands of a teammate and into no man’s land near mid-court. Jazz guard Jordan Clarkson chased the loose ball down and, after drawing the lone Mavericks defender in, dumped a pass off to the trailing Kris Dunn for an easy dunk.
Clarkson has 10 points and five assists in 11 minutes of play.
The Jazz continue to play well after outscoring Dallas by 11 points in the opening period. Utah’s lead has increased to 47-33 with 7:38 left in the half.

Fifth-year guard Luka Dončić is second in the league, scoring 33.9 points per game. The all-world Dončić also grabs 8.4 rebounds and hands out 9.3 assists per night. Kyrie Irving, in his first full season with Dallas, is averaging 23 points and 5.2 assists per game. The eight-time all-star has been limited to 17 games played this year.
Former Utah Jazz No. 5 overall pick Dante Exum is scoring 9.5 points per game in 29 appearances this season.
