Gobert Passes Stockton For 4th Place In Rebounds With Jazz

NEW ORLEANS, La. – It’s no small feat to pass Utah Jazz legend John Stockton in any statistical category. With his seventh rebound against the New Orleans Pelicans, Jazz center Rudy Gobert passed Stockton in the team record books for fourth all-time in total rebounds.
Stockton, who is regarded as one of the greatest point guards in NBA history, grabbed 4,051 rebounds over his 19-year career. It took Stockton 1,504 games to reach his rebound total. Gobert eclipsed the mark in his 297th game.
This season, Gobert is averaging 12.9 rebounds per game, good for fourth best in the NBA.

Gobert’s teammate, Derrick Favors, is third on the Jazz rebounding leaderboard with 4,150 boards. Favors holds the 36th highest rebounding averages in the NBA with 7.4 rebounds per game.

The Jazz’s second all-time rebounder, Mark Eaton, who played for the team from 1982 to 1993, has a rebound total of 6,939.
“The Mailman,” Karl Malone, holds the all-time franchise mark for rebounds with 14,601.
The Jazz faced the Pelicans just a couple days after a disastrous fourth quarter collapse in a 115-112 loss on Monday.
