SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Day 2 of fall camp is in the books for the University of Utah and head coach Kyle Whittingham was impressed with .

The wide receivers and quarterback Tyler Huntley.

It’s uncommon ground to have Whittingham talking about the offense rather than the defense.

Wide Receivers

Whittingham mentioned that the wide receiver group had a great day as well.

“The wide receivers worked hard,” Whittingham stated.

“I really liked the young running backs, they show a lot of promise so far,” Whittingham said.

That is promising considering last season, the wide receivers had issues catching the football early in the season. But, Whittingham and his staff has tried to get ahead of the game by having the receivers at the jug machines following practice to continue to improve.

The Utah head coach pointed out Solomon Enis, Bryan Thompson, Derrick Vickers and Britain Covey as wide receivers that are doing well.

Huntley Has Command Of The Offense

During the off-season following an injury riddled campaign, Huntley has worked really hard by putting on 25 pounds of good weight and muscle to keep him more durable. He also has really embraced the leadership role.

“He has a lot of confidence,” Whittingham said. “He has great command of the offense, I can tell you that right now. He was in the film room in the off-season and knows the offense inside and out. He just has a different era about him.”

Whittingham hopes to keep Huntley over 200 pounds during fall camp, which could be a challenge with the heat.

“He has more zip on the ball and has better arm strength,” Whittingham added.
