Conley’s Shooting Woes Continue

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Mike Conley was smiling after his 1-16 shooting night against Oklahoma City on Wednesday. He told the media after the game that he wouldn’t bet on him having another poor shooting night like that one.
If someone did bet against Conley, they may have won a lot of money in Utah’s 95-86 loss to the Lakers
Conley missed all of 5 of his shots in the first half including three 3-pointers. He at least had 4-points at the break due to 4 free throws.
Mike Conley is a bit out of sorts. He’s just overwhelmed with the shooting struggles right now.
This is one of the more bizarre adjustment periods I’ve ever seen for a player.
He’ll figure it out, but it’s just been rough.

Conley missed another shot in the 3rd quarter before finally hitting a floater. At that point, he was 1-7 for the game. Conley then hit a bank shot and 3-pointer in the 4th quarter to finish 3-11 from the field.
The Lakers came out physical against Conley who had a hard time finding any rhythm or flow to his game. It not only showed in his shooting performance but also in other parts of the game. Conley contributed 4 of the Jazz’s 22 turnovers in this game. He now has 6 turnovers and only 8 assists in his first two games.

The Jazz traded for Conley to bring better shooting from the point guard position. So far, the lefty has only hit 4-27 from the field and 1-11 from behind the 3-point arc.
Conley can probably bet that the De’Aaron Fox and the Sacramento Kings will try to bother him into another poor performance. I’m sure Conley is betting that his shooting woes will end soon.
