OGDEN, Utah – The third ranked Weber State Wildcats needed some miscues by North Dakota late in order to kick a game-winning field goal with 31 seconds left to beat the No. 22 Fighting Hawks.

It’s their seventh straight victory and third straight win over a ranked FCS team.

Quarterback Jake Constantine ran in a 12-yard touchdown to tie the game at 27 with 2:49 left. On the kickoff, North Dakota muffed the return and the Wildcats recovered the fumble in Fight Hawks territory at their 23-yard line. Weber State chewed up the clock, setting Trey Tuttle up for a 32-yard field goal.

Constantine completed 17 of his 23 pass attempts for 230 yards, 2 touchdowns and 2 interceptions and a rushing score. Kevin Smith played well in place of Josh Davis, who left the game after two carries. Smith had 104 rushing yards on 25 carries. Wide receiver David Ames was the main target for Weber State, recording six receptions for 105 yards and a touchdown.

Weber State jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter before North Dakota scored late in the period. The Wildcats held onto a 20-17 lead at the half before the Fighting Hawks scored 10 unanswered points to start the second half. Weber State scored 10 points in 6:20.
