Bradlee Anae Breaks Utah’s All-Time Sacks Record

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Utah Utes defensive end Bradlee Anae broke the school record for all-time sacks in program history.

Entering the Alamo Bowl against Texas, Anae was tied with Hunter Dimick with 29.5 career sacks.

Anae broke the record with his 30th sack in the first quarter with Texas leading the Utes 3-0. He and Leki Fotu shared the sack that was originally given to Fotu before they shared the sack between the dynamic duo.

The senior from Hawaii had 12.5 sacks this season, which is good for second in the Pac-12 and seventh in the nation. Now, he is sixth in the country and is one sack away from leading the conference.

As a freshman in 2016, Anae had two sacks in six games played. In 2017 as a sophomore, he started 10 games and racked up 7 sacks. Last season was the breakout year for Anae with 8 sacks, leading the Pac-12 and was named first team All-Pac-12.

Anae has been named Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week once and Defensive Lineman of the Week twice and is a consensus All-American and first team All-Pac-12.
