Gobert’s Putback Dunk Sparks Jazz Third Quarter Run

WASHINGTON D.C. – Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert had a tremendous third quarter on the defensive end, but a putback dunk helped the Jazz cap a big scoring run on the Washington Wizards.
Emmanuel Mudiay attempted a three-point shot from the right wing that missed off of the left side of the rim, but Gobert grabbed the ball and dunked it with two hands. It capped a 15-0 run for the Jazz and tied the game at 77 with 5:06 remaining in the quarter.

That dunk gave Gobert his sixth point of the game. The Jazz struggled in the first half, trailing most of the game before they made second half adjustments and crawled back into the game. They are without Donovan Mitchell, who is out with an illness.
Later on in the third quarter, the Jazz took their first lead since they were ahead 15-14 in the opening moments of the game. Emmanuel Mudiay started in place of Mitchell.
