SALT LAKE CITY — According to reports, Utah Jazz star forward Jaren Jackson Jr. suffered a torn MCL in his right knee against the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday.
ESPN NBA Insider Shams Charania broke the news on Tuesday, adding that Jackson Jr. will not require surgery and will miss six to eight weeks.

The injury took place in the first half of the fourth game of the regular season for Utah.
Memphis’ Ty Jerome fell into his knee, causing it to bend awkwardly. He was quickly subbed out and went to the locker room.
He was later ruled out with a right knee injury.
In 10 minutes played, JJJ posted six points, three rebounds, and two assists against the Grizzlies. He’s averaged 19.7 points and 5.7 rebounds in three games played so far this season.
If the six-to-eight-week timeline is correct, the Jazz are looking at about 20 to 25 games with no JJJ.

Depending on how close Jackson Jr. stays to that six-to-eight-week return timeline, the Jazz will be without their star big man for about 20 to 25 games. He will miss the entirety of the NBA Cup in November and early December before returning sometime in the second half of the final month of 2026.
The Utah Jazz return from a road trip on the day after Christmas to host the Indiana Pacers. If JJJ returned then, he would have missed a total of 26 games.
