LOGAN, Utah – The Utah State men’s basketball aims for their first road victory in over a month when they play against the Boise State Broncos.

The Aggies travel to Idaho to face the Broncos at ExtraMile Arena on Saturday, January 18.

Utah State hasn’t won on the road since defeating the San Jose State Spartans 71-59 on December 4. Since the road victory over Spartans, Utah State has played only two games away from Logan. Both resulted in losses.

The Aggies’ first road defeat of 2020 came in Las Vegas to UNLV. The Rebels beat USU 70-53.

Six days later, Utah State traveled to Colorado Springs and suffered its worst defeat of the season against the Air Force Falcons. The Aggies crumbled to close the first half and weren’t able to recover as the Falcons took the game with a 79-60 win.

Utah State opened Mountain West Conference play with a 2-0 record having beat San Jose State and Fresno State. Since then, the Aggies dropped three conference games before picking up a win over Nevada to move to 3-3 in MWC play.

USU guard Sam Merrill leads the Aggies with 16.9 points per game this season. He is shooting 40.7 percent from the field.

Neemias Queta is recording 11.1 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per contest this season.

Aggie forward Justin Bean averages a double-double per game with 12.8 points and 10.3 boards.

The Broncos hosts USU after dropping back-to-back games to Air Force and undefeated San Diego State.

Boise State is led by Derrick Alston’s 19.5 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game.

The Aggies (14-5, 3-3 MWC) and Broncos (11-8, 3-4 MWC) are scheduled to tip-off on Saturday, January 18 at 8 p.m. (MDT). The game is broadcast on ESPNU.
