Utah Coach Krystkowiak Reprimanded For Comments About Officiating

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Pac-12 Conference reprimanded University of Utah Men’s Basketball Coach, Larry Krystkowiak, for comments he made about the officiating on Saturday evening.
The comments came following the Utes’ loss to Arizona State on Saturday in Arizona. The final score of the game was 83-64.
The Sun Devils had a double-digit lead when freshman Matt Van Komen dunked the ball and as the 7’4 Ute was trying to get back on the floor after the dunk, he put his legs over the head of an ASU player. The officials assessed Van Komen with a technical foul, which ignited Utah head coach Larry Krystkowiak. The Utah coach was ejected shortly after confronting the officials.

Arizona State was given five technical free throws. After knocking down all of them, the Sun Devils went from having an 11 point lead to 16. The technical’s came in the last two minutes of the game.
During his weekly press conference on Monday, Krystkowiak addressed the issue before the Pac-12 officially made the announcement.
“I think it’s coming out here in a little while that I have been reprimanded for negative comments I made after the game,” he said. “The game was full of mistakes… the mistake I made was talking negatively about officiating after the game.”
The official press release from the Pac-12 does not provide details of the reprimand.
