Former Utah Coach Urban Meyer Says He Tested Positive, Recovered From COVID-19

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Former Utah football head coach Urban Meyer said that he tested positive for COVID-19 and has since recovered from the coronavirus disease.
Meyer revealed his experience with the virus during an interview with Dom Tiberi of WBNS in Columbus, Ohio.
“I’ve just recently gotten over it,” Meyer said. “I was relatively symptom-free, I tested positive and that’s why we couldn’t do Big Noon Kickoff last week. The good news is none of my partners and teammates had it, and we’re going to be back at it this weekend.”
Meyer and fellow co-stars of FOX’s Big Noon Kickoff Matt Leinart, Reggie Bush, Brady Quinn and Rob Stone were all held out of working on Saturday, November 7, in accordance with safety guidelines from the CDC and the Los Angeles Department of Public Health.
“It’s the real deal,” Meyer said. “I’ve dealt with it. My daughter dealt with it. It’s just something we have to be aware of.”

FOX did not say if any of the broadcasters had COVID-19 but told The New York Post the crew was held out “out of an abundance of caution.”
The former Utah coach told WBNS that he tested positive but none of his co-workers did.
Meyer coached the Utes from 2003-04. He last coached college football at Ohio State in 2018.
