Fardaws Aimaq’s Big Game Not Enough As Utah Valley Falls To Wyoming

OREM, Utah – Utah Valley center Fardaws Aimaq posted a big performance but it wasn’t enough as the Wolverines fell to the Wyoming Cowboys.
The Wolverines hosted the Cowboys at the UCCU Center in Orem on Saturday, December 12.
Aimaq had a double with a team-high 27 points and 20 rebounds in UVU’s 93-88 loss to Wyoming.

The Utah Valley big man was 8-12 shooting in the contest. He added three assists and two blocks in the loss.
After trailing by seven points at halftime, the Wolverines outscored the Cowboys in the second half. Unfortunately for Utah Valley, the early deficit was too much to overcome.

Both teams shot 50.0 percent from the field but Wyoming outshot Utah Valley 52.0 percent from three compared to 31.3 percent.
Cowboys guard Hunter Maldonado dropped a game-high 30 points on 12-23 field goals.
With the loss, the Wolverines fell to 2-3 on the season.

Utah Valley’s next game is against the Utah Utes on Tuesday, December 15. The Wolverines and Utes are slated to tip-off at 5 p.m. (MDT). The game will broadcast on the Pac-12 Network, 700 AM, and 960 AM.
