IOC Launches #StrongerTogether Campaign To Celebrate Olympic Heroes

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The IOC released a special video on Wednesday afternoon that launched the #StrongerTogether campaign that celebrates Olympic heroes.
The #StrongerTogether campaign delivers a message of hope and solidarity on Olympic Day. The story features past and present Olympians Usain Bolt, Naomi Osaka, Andre De Grasse, Yusra Mardini and Nyjah Houston. Tony Hawk was in the video that was released as he represents the skateboarding community as the sport enters the Olympics for the first time ever.
It focuses on a people-centric message of Stronger Together, emphasizing the IOC’s message of solidarity and belief that the world moves forward as one and together.
Bolt narrated a portion of the video.
“When the world stood still, the future uncertain,” Bolt said. “We kept moving. Competing against ghosts of ourselves of history. No progress is a force in the shadows. The gains made in darkness, advanced no one unless they carried into the light. The world only moves forward when we move together. This isn’t about breaking records or building a place for everyone. Regardless of who they are, where they’re from, or how they shine. It’s about going to the edge of possibility. And seeing this on the other side together because no matter how hard or how far we push ourselves, we can never go further than when we push each other. Alone we are small, together we become giants.”
