Weber State Suffers Heartbreaking Loss In Final Minute To UC Davis

OGDEN, Utah – The Weber State Wildcats lost to UC Davis 17-14 after the Aggies scored the go-ahead touchdown with 27 seconds left in the game.
It was a slugfest on defense that didn’t see a touchdown until early in the second quarter when Weber State QB Kylan Weisser found Josh Davis for an 8-yard TD. UC Davis found the end zone for the first time almost 11 minutes later when Ulonzo Gilliam ran in a three-yard touchdown to tie the game.
Weber State took the lead back when Dontae McMillan scored an 11-yard TD on the ground early in the third quarter. UC Davis made a 23-yard field goal to trim the deficit to 14-10 midway through the third. Neither team scored again until Trent Tompkins ran in the game-winning touchdown with 27 seconds left in the game.

For Weber State, Weisser finished 19-for-32 passing for 225 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. Josh Davis had 15 carries for 87 yards, along with three catches for 15 yards and one TD.
The Wildcats dropped their record to 1-3 overall and 0-1 in Big Sky play. They will be on the road to face Cal Poly on Saturday, October 2 at 6 p.m. MDT on ESPN+.
