SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah Jazz big man Rudy Gobert made an impressive recovery block to help keep a big run alive against the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday night.
Denver Nuggets guard Austin Rivers drove around Rudy Gobert at the top of the three-point line and thought he had beat the three-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year.
When he got to the rim, Gobert recovered and blocked the layup off of the backboard.

That was in the middle of a 15-0 run that started in the first quarter after Jordan Clarkson made a layup with 1:25 to play. The run ended when Facundo Campazzo drilled a pair of free throws with 9:57 remaining in the second quarter.
After Clarkson’s layup gave the Jazz a 31-30 lead, Mike Conley made a three-pointer, followed by two free throws by Clarkson. Joe Ingles added a layup before Clarkson made five straight points.
Utah’s lead was 42-31 at that point when Michael Malone of the Nuggets called a timeout.
Flamethrower flame throwing.
