Tavion Thomas Breaks Utah’s Single-Season Rushing Touchdown Record

SALT LAKE CITY – Utes running back Tavion Thomas set a new school record for rushing touchdowns in a single season during Utah’s game against the Oregon Ducks.
The No. 23 Utes hosted the No. 3 Ducks at Rice-Eccles Stadium on Saturday, November 20.
With 27 seconds remaining in the first half, Thomas burst out of the backfield and into the end zone for his 16th rushing touchdown of the season.
Thomas’ 16th rushing touchdown set a new school record for single-season touchdown runs by a Utah player.

The previous mark was held by John White VI (2011) and Zack Moss (2019). Thomas tied the school record with a touchdown in the first quarter.

After his second score of the game, Thomas had 16 carries for 58 yards and two touchdowns.

The Dayton, Ohio product entered the game with 122 carries for 742 yards and 14 touchdowns on the ground this season.
Utah’s game against Oregon is broadcast on ABC and 700 AM.
