First Quarter

Utah got the ball to start the game. Cam Rising over threw Brant Kuithe and the Buffs took the pick to the Utah 15-yard line. Colorado threw three straight incomplete passes and settled for a 33-yard field goal to take a 3-0 lead with 12:32 left in the opening quarter.

Second Quarter

It didn’t take the Utes long to get going in the second quarter. T.J. Pledger busted out a 27-yards that set Utah up in the red zone. On the next play, Cam Rising connected with Brant Kuithe for a 19-yard TD. The Utes took a 7-3 lead with 12:23 left in the first half.

Minutes later, Utah went down the field and Cam Rising found another tight end for a touchdown. This time it was Dalton Kincaid from 28-yards out. Utah was in control with a 14-3 lead with 8:02 left until halftime.

Just before halftime, Colorado nailed a 56-yard field goal.

Third Quarter

Utah kicked to Colorado to start the second half. Nikko Reed ran the kickoff for a 100-yard touchdown. The Buffs were within one point, 14-13 with 14:45 to play in the third.

The Utes didn’t need much time to get points on the board in the third quarter. They ran seven plays in 2:29 that ended in a 12-yard TD run by Tavion Thomas, his first score of the game. Utah’s lead was up 21-13 with 12:08 remaining in the third.

Midway through the third quarter, Rising made a great play. The signal-caller had the ball with an open lane to run down the far sideline. He was making his way to the line of scrimmage when he threw a shovel pass to Britain Covey for a 13-yard TD. Utah’s lead was up to 28-13 with 6:45 remaining in the third.

Fourth Quarter

Both teams were scoreless over the final 15 minutes of action and Utah won by two scores.

With the victory, the Utes improved to a 9-3 record this season, including 8-1 in Pac-12 action.

Utah’s next game will be in the Pac-12 title game.
