SALT LAKE CITY – Jazz forward Bojan Bogdanovic grabbed the defensive rebound before leading the break and hitting a top of the key three to bring the Jazz within 7, 15-8.

The Jazz hosted the NBA’s best team, the Phoenix Suns in the second-to-last game of the 2022 regualr season on Friday, April 8.

Trailing 15-5 and reeling from a blistering Phoenix pace, Bogdanovic grabbed the board and did all the work as no Phoenix defender stopped ball, leaving Bogey wide open for his first three of the ball games.

Bogdanovic is averaging 18 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game in his third season with the Jazz after signing a free agent contract following a stint with the Indiana Pacers.

The Suns scored the first thirteen points of the game while the Jazz hit just one of their first 10 shots.

The Jazz were able to weather the Phoenix storm, cutting into the Suns lead before heading to the second quarter trailing 30-24. A frenetic final possession saw the Jazz come up with four offensive rebounds and still not score before the end of quarter horn.

Suns Face Jazz With Healthy Roster

After resting Chris Paul, Devin Booker, DeAndre Ayton, and Jae Crowder in Wednesday’s loss to the Los Angeles Clippers, Phoenix didn’t have any names listed on Friday’s injury report.

The two teams have yet to field a fully healthy roster against one another this season with the Jazz missing several starters in their first two meetings in late January, while Paul missed the Suns’ road trip to Utah in February.

The two teams could face off in the second round if the Jazz remain in the fifth seed, and both teams were to win their opening-round matchups.

Honoring Carlos Boozer

The Utah Jazz announced that the team will recognize and honor former Jazzman Carlos Boozer during the team’s regular season home finale.

Boozer will be recognized during the third quarter for his contributions to the Jazz during his six seasons in Utah.

As a Jazzman, Boozer averaged 19.3 points per game on 54.4 percent shooting. He also recorded 10.5 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.0 steals, and 0.4 blocks per contest. He played in 354 games with the Jazz, including 340 starts.

The Jazz plan to honor Boozer’s teammate, Deron Williams, next season.

Broadcast

The Jazz and Suns can be heard on KSL NewsRadio and The Zone Sports Network. The game is also televised on AT&T SportsNet and FuboTV.
