Mavericks Even Series With Game Two Win Over Jazz

SALT LAKE CITY – The Dallas Mavericks evened their opening round season series against the Utah Jazz with a 110-104.
The Mavericks hit 22-47 threes, led by Jalen Brunson who scored a career-high 41 points in the win.
Donovan Mitchell led the Jazz with 34 points.
First Quarter
The Mavericks came out playing at a frantic pace in the first half, collapsing on the Jazz defensively and trying to get out in transition.
Jalen Brunson had 15 points 6-7 shooting to lead the Mavericks as the Dallas crowd was energized.

However, the Jazz steadied the ship thanks to Mitchell nine point first quarter.
After one, the Jazz and Mavericks were tied at 24.
Second Quarter
The Jazz opened the second quarter by building a five point lead taking advantage of the Mavericks’ second unit.
The Mavericks retook the lead midway through the second quarter but the Jazz answered with a 7-0 run to close the half to rebuild their lead.

Mitchell had 21 points on a mega efficient 7-13 shooting.
At the half, the Jazz led the Mavericks 55-48.
Third Quarter
The Jazz built their lead to 10 early in the third quarter, but Mike Conley picked up his fourth foul two minutes into the period and the Jazz offense stalled.
The Mavericks ball movement improved off Jazz misses as they overcame their deficit and took a one point lead midway through the quarter.

Bojan Bogdanovic answered with a one-man 6-0 run as the Jazz retook the lead heading into the final quarter.
After three, the Jazz led the Mavericks 81-77.
Fourth Quarter
The Mavericks were on fire from the three-point line throughout the game, including the fourth quarter which kept them attached to the Jazz on the offensive end.
Maxi Kleber ended up with 25 points on 8-11 shooting as the Mavericks knocked down 22-47 from downtown.

Conley and Rudy Gobert struggled, combining for 2-12 shooting and eight points.
The Jazz lost to the Mavericks 110-104 to even the series at one game apiece.
