SALT LAKE CITY – Utah’s Tony Finau concluded his second round at the RBC Canadian Open at one-over-par and will require an impressive weekend performance if he intends on winning his third PGA Tour event.

It was a drastic contrast from a day ago when Finau shot a four-under-par round that consisted of just one bogey. On Friday, Finau carded five bogeys beginning with the first falling on his fourth hole and ending on the 18th green.

Finau struggled to find consistency throughout the entirety of the day. His opening bogey on 4 was followed by a birdie on 5 before back-to-back bogeys dropped on seven and eight. He made the turn with a birdie on nine and one-over-par through the halfway point of his round. Then, birdies on 11 and 14 got him back to under-par.

The birdie putt on 14 was the shot of the day for Finau who found himself just off the green in the first cut and opted to hit the golf ball with the toe of his putter, something you very rarely see on the PGA Tour.

Sadly, the round did not finish the way Finau had hoped as he gave shots back on 16 and 18 to card a 71 and one over on the day.

Through two rounds Finau sits at three-under-par and four shots back from the clubhouse leader Wyndham Clark.

Saturday and Sunday’s rounds will be available to watch via CBS and the Golf Channel.

Pairings and tee times ahead of Saturday are yet to be announced.

Other notable players in the field include Rory MclLroy who sits in a tie for 2nd at 6 under, Shane Lowry and Scottie Scheffler are in a tie for 7th at 4 under, Justin Thomas in a share of 20th at 2 under, and Cam Smith in a tie for 56th at 1 over.
