Cam Rising, Dalton Kincaid, Brant Kuithe Get Shoutout From Jim Nagy, Senior Bowl

SALT LAKE CITY- As the 2022 football season draws closer, Utah quarterback Cam Rising continues to earn praise in high places for his play and leadership ability. The latest round of admiration comes from Jim Nagy, the Executive Director of the Reese’s Senior Bowl who also threw in some love in for Utah tight ends Dalton Kincaid and Brant Kuithe.

Nagy’s praise of Rising was particularly focused on his recent performance at the Manning Passing Academy where he apparently shined despite not a lot of information being available about the event. As for Utah’s tight end tandem, Nagy says they were already viewed as draftable prospects last season by the Senior Bowl before opting to return for one more season.
Utah’s Senior Bowl History
Nagy and his crew at the Senior Bowl have been particularly complimentary in recent years toward the Utes.
Starting in 2014 up until 2021, the Utes have had at least one player selected to the Senior Bowl. The Covid-19 season along with Utah’s collective dedication to “run it back” for Ty Jordan in 2021 most likely accounts for the missed year in invites. Utah’s first ever Senior Bowl participant was running back Herb Nakken in 1956 followed up a few years later by quarterback Lee Grosscup in 1959.
Utah’s most impressive turnout was in 2020 where the Senior Bowl invited six total Utes out to Mobile, Alabama. Zack Moss, Julian Blackmon, Terrell Burgess, Leki Fotu, Bradlee Anae, and Francis Bernard all got the stamp of approval from the Senior Bowl with just Burgess, Fotu, Anae, and Bernard participating in the event.
In 2022 linebacker Devin Lloyd received an invite to the Senior Bowl, but opted out. Lloyd ultimately went on to be a first round draft pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
Running back T.J. Pledger ended up being called up as an alternate late in the practice week in 2022 with just over 24 hours to prepare. Pledger became a standout at the Senior Bowl game with several highlights despite the disadvantage of not getting the same coaching all week.
Could Cam Rising, Dalton Kincaid & Brant Kuithe be next for the Senior Bowl?
Could Cam Rising, Dalton Kincaid, or Brant Kuithe be the next to be called up for the Utes at the Senior Bowl? The fact that Nagy and his crew are already keeping tabs on them is always a good sign, but like most everything, it’s got to be earned with a good performance in the upcoming football season.
If Rising did in fact get an invite and participated, he would be the first Utah quarterback to make an appearance at the Senior Bowl since Grosscup. Kincaid and Kuithe would be the first ever tight ends for the Utes at the Senior Bowl.
