Utah Tech Crushes The Masters For Third Straight Win

ST. GEORGE, Utah – The Utah Tech Trailblazers picked up their third straight win as they beat The Masters 100-58 on Saturday night at home.
Utah Tech had the game in hand from early in the first half and never looked back as they outscored The Masters 51-27 in the first half and 49-31 in the second half.
Five Utah Tech players scored in double figures, led by 15 points from Cameron Gooden. Isaiah Pope and Jacob Nicolds each dropped 14 points, while Tanner Christensen added 13 points.
The Trailblazers had 14 players appear in the game with every player scoring at least two points. As a team, they shot 53.3% from the field, 45% from the three-point line, and 78% at the free-throw line. Utah Tech shot 32 free throws, while the Mustangs attempted 19 free throws.
The Master’s University is located in Santa Clarita, California. They play in the GSAC Conference. Caden Starr led the Mustangs with 19 points. Kaleb Lowery added 10 points. As a team, The Masters shot 35.6% from the field, 21% from the three-point line, and 52.6% from the foul line.

Utah Tech With Two More Non-Conference Games
Utah Tech improved its record to 6-5 on the season. They have wins over California State Northridge, Idaho, Cal State Fullerton, Weber State, Chapman, and The Masters. Their losses came against Nevada, Washington, Arizona, North Dakota, and Utah State.
Up next for the Trail Blazers will be two home games to round out non-conference play beginning with Westmont College going to Burns Arena in St. George on Monday, December 19 at 7 p.m. MT on ESPN+ and The Fan Sports Network (99.5 FM in St. George). Then the Trailblazers will host Lindenwood on Thursday, December 29 on ESPN+ and The Fan Sports Network.
After the holiday break, Utah Tech will begin Western Athletic Conference play on Thursday, December 29 at home against UTRGV at 7:00 p.m. MT. Then they will battle Utah Valley in Orem on Saturday, December 31.
