SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Jazz won their second straight game downing the Orlando Magic 112-108.

Lauri Markkanen shot just 4-13 from the floor but scored 28 points to lead the Jazz. Walker Kessler added 13 points, nine rebounds, and seven blocks in the win.

The Magic were led by Franz Wagner who scored 26 points.

First Quarter

The Magic presented very little defensive opposition in the first quarter as the Jazz knocked down 7-11 from the three-point line, including an efficient 3-4 from Lauri Markkanen.

Collin Sexton scored six points, grabbed two rebounds, and handed out two assists after missing the last five games with a hamstring injury.

The Magic shot 5-11 from three and were led by Wendell Carter Jr. who scored eight.

After one the Jazz led the Magic 36-37.

Second Quarter

The Magic got hot to open the second quarter knocking down three threes, and outscoring the Jazz 9-2 in the opening 90 seconds of the period.

The Jazz’s three-point shooting screeched to a halt as missed all 10 of their second-quarter attempts. Six offensive rebounds led to seven second-chance points to keep the offense afloat.

The Jazz were led by Markkanen who had 15 at the break, while Walker Kessler added 11 points, five rebounds, and five blocks.

Orlando got 13 from Carter Jr. as they trailed the Jazz 61-56 a half time.

Third Quarter

The Magic outscored the Jazz 14-7 to open the third quarter, taking a 70-68 lead midway through the period.

The streak of missed threes reached 13 before Collin Sexton hit two in the period to help the Jazz regain and extend their lead.

Franz Wagner kept the Magic close with a buzzer-beating three to end the third, trimming the Jazz lead to five.

Wagner had 24 points for Orlando while Markkanen had 25 as the Jazz led Orlando 88-83.

Fourth Quarter

The Jazz opened the fourth on a 5-2 run soliciting an early timeout from the Magic.

Talen Horton-Tucker also made an impression in his return to the floor after missing the last two games scoring all seven of his points for the game in the fourth quarter.

The Magic used a 17-4 run late in the fourth to take a 106-105 lead in the final 1:16 of the game.

Walker Kessler hit two big free throws with 12 seconds left to play to give the Jazz a 111-108 lead, and Markkanen blocked a potential game-tying three from Wagner as the Jazz beat the Magic 112-108.
