Wayshawn Parker Breaks Free, Opens Scoring With 52-Yard Rushing Touchdown

SALT LAKE CITY – Utah football running back Wayshawn Parker took a short pass and found space on the left sideline, rumbling 52 yards to open scoring for the Utes at home.
The score was Parker’s second of the season. He also opened scoring against UCLA in week one.

Parker, a transfer from Washington State, has stepped in as a top back for Utah alongside NaQuari Rogers.
In week one, he took 11 carries for 62 yards and a touchdown. Parker’s first touch against the Mustangs nearly matched his yards total from last Saturday.
Utah quickly got the ball back on the other end, forcing a Cal Poly punt after just four plays.
Utes Open 2025 Home Schedule Against Cal Poly
No. 25 Utah football hosts the Cal Poly Mustangs for their 2025 home-opener at Rice-Eccles Stadium on Saturday.
After a statement week one victory over the UCLA Bruins, the Utes look to keep the ball rolling at home against an FCS opponent. Cal Poly also won its first game, defeating San Diego 41-17 on the road.
Since joining the Pac-12 back in 2011, Utah has played teams from the Big Sky a total of seven times. They are 7-0 in those games with an average margin of victory of over 33 points.
